Medium: charcoal, acrylic paint and ink on canvas
Inspired by a photograph taken in Playa Venao, Panama, by Ron Katz
Light Language shows a woman rising from the ocean as if surfacing from the depths of her own emotional and subconscious world. The water is a place of transformation she has entered, moved through and returned from with something newly awake inside her. Her face is painted in black and white, the physical self that can be seen. Around and across her, colour appears through intuitive symbols and fluid markings inspired by the beauty of Sanskrit, created without planning or literal meaning: a visual language for energy, emotion and inner knowledge that words cannot always hold. Two lines, one thick and one delicate, move around and through her: strength and softness, conscious and subconscious, grounded and intuitive, intertwining without one overpowering the other.
Available as a gallery canvas print (textured, fade resistant canvas on 1.25 inch solid wood stretcher bars, mounting brackets included) or as an enhanced matte paper framed poster (ayous wood frame, acrylite front, hanging hardware included). Printed on demand.
