Resting Monk

Resting Monk is the pure, unguarded part of ourselves that exists before the world teaches us to be afraid, to perform or to protect who we are. The young monk rests in complete trust, carrying the innocence of a child alongside the quiet wisdom of a monk. A continuous white line moves around his body like an energetic cocoon. It does not confine him. It holds and protects him, creating a safe space where he can soften completely. For me this child is the original self: the gentle, open part within us that may get hidden as we grow but never truly disappears. A reminder to protect that inner innocence and to create enough safety inside ourselves that it can rest, breathe and stay soft.
